Drugs

Ok so I think drugs are bad, and what worries me is the more and more relaxed
view some of our younger generation seem to have of drugs. This was evident to me during the
annonymous slip "confessions" in the class. Its not only the health reasons that are "bad" with drugs but also the effects they can have on families and society as a whole. If someone looks at areas where the consumption of drugs is higher than the sourrounding area, almost immediatley one would be able to find higher violence and crime rates in that area. Are there really any "good" points with drugs....

I suppose the feeling that they give can be seen as positive, even if they are short lived.
Also drugs unfortunetley has become a main source of income for many individuals and families in the world who perhaps have no other means of income and can't make a living without it.

Infidelity and the similarity with animals

Right this topic sure is a heated one and I suppose one thing to think about is this view that couples are meant to stay together forever.

I mean if one looks at the animal world rarely does any mammal have a life long partner. So are human couples meant to stay together forever. And if so what is it that makes us think this way. Why can’t it just be “normal” to have several sexual partners? I guess this practise is being done somewhat by the younger generation but I just think this is were religion does come in handy with its “rules” regarding adultery in the hopes of making man more human like than animals.

Or maybe perhaps we are meant to have several partners and its only been instilled to us through religion that we are to be with one partner our whole lives. It certainlty seems safer that route though with the alarming increase in STD's for both teenagers and people over 30.

Comment left on Emil Taswars blog

This comment was left in the post entitled "Drugs" @ http://emil87tru.blogspot.com/

"I kinda agree with this statement, the media in glamourising the use of drugs from celebrities actually make it seem ok to use drugs to young teenagers. One thing that never was mentioned in the lecture was the effects drugs has on a community or society."

Comment to Teleka Malcolms blog

This is a comment left to the blog entitled "religion religion religion" @ http://smokingadvantages.blogspot.com/

"Just to leave a comment Religion can actually benefit a person in more ways than just applying rules to ones life. It can give someone meaning to life and a better quality of living. We are all the same in the end just in different ways and religion can help with ones identification in a specific way suitable to the individual."

Body Modification

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_modification

Body modification is when someone changes the design of ones body to that which someone was born with in a permanent or semi permanent manner. One of the most well known is probably tattoos which can be done for a variety of reasons. Something to wonder about is if all these different types of body modification can be considered harmful to the body and if so is there any body modification which has a positive effect on the human body physiologically. Having a quick look at body modification on wikipedia most of the alternatives seem to actually cause harm.

Although perhaps one of the most common body modification is bodybuilding which in a lot of causes is actually good for the body. One thing to think about is where it all started, when was the first ever body modification made and for what reason.

Smoking

Smoking is bad. I dont see the fascination of it at all. Ive always wondered how new smokers choose to be smokers. I mean with all the information available today regarding the drawbacks with smoking, Health wise, Money wise + all government sponsored advertisement and stop smoking clinics. I mean have a look what a google search for the word "smoking" shows (look above paragraph)

Maybe its because im "new age" but ive never really seen the slight benefit at all with smoking.
I would assume that majority of "new" smokers started young when friends had a significant
influence on oneself.

Here;s a interesting article regaring "social influencing and smoking"

Field Trip

We could go to a gambling place. Not sure if there are any here.
Somewhere where our moral beliefs, practises or even religion would be against, yet
somehow still legal. Very hard to think of. A strip club maybe... *:0
